Mrs. Kelly Jones
Dear Central Elementary Families,
Welcome! My name is Kelly Jones and it is with immense pride and joy that I write to you today as the new Principal of Central Elementary School. Having served as your Assistant Principal for the past four years, this school community has truly become my home. Stepping into the role of Principal is an absolute honor, and I am beyond excited to lead our incredible school into its next chapter!
To share a bit about my journey: I grew up nearby in Bath County, where my love for education first began. After graduating high school, I went on to earn my degree from James Madison University (Go Dukes!) before starting my teaching career in Long County, Georgia, where I taught for two years. Knowing my heart belonged in this area, I moved back home and had the wonderful opportunity to teach at both Fairfield and Natural Bridge Elementary Schools. Every step of this journey has shaped my passion for supporting students, teachers, and families in our local communities.
As the Principal of Central Elementary School, my vision is to create a safe, positive, and academically stimulating environment where all learners can reach their fullest potential and become lifelong learners. I want to foster a school community that is responsive to the needs of students, teachers, families, and the community. When students leave CES, I want them filled with the warmest of memories and a strong foundation to become contributing members of society.
I firmly believe that a child’s success relies on a strong partnership between home and school. You are your child’s first and most important teacher, and your insights, support, and involvement are vital to everything we do. My door is always open, and I look forward to working closely with you, listening to your ideas, and celebrating our students’ achievements together throughout the year.
Let’s make this a fantastic school year! Go Bears!
Kelly Jones, Principal
